Allan Snyder (scientist)
Allan Whitenack Snyder (* 1942 in Philadelphia , USA ) is an Australian scientist, neuroscientist and director of the Center for the Mind . Among other things, he carried out research in various areas of optics before devoting himself to the topics of autism and savants . It was featured in the three-part science documentary " Expedition into the Brain " and the two-part series " The Power of the Unconscious ".
Snyder studied electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University (BS 1963). He then obtained Masters degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (SM 1965) and from Harvard University (MS 1967) as well as a PhD from University College London (1969) and a DSc from the University of London .
His striking trademark is a baseball cap pulled to the side.
