Allan Starski
Allan Starski (born January 1, 1943 in Warsaw ) is a Polish production designer .
Life and career
Allan Starski is the son of a screenwriter and grew up near the Łódź film studio . This is how he came into contact with the film world as a child. He then studied art in Warsaw.
In 1976 he made the first joint film Die Schattenlinie with director Andrzej Wajda . Since then he has been a production designer for many of Wajda's films.
Starski is one of the most internationally recognized production designers in the film industry. The best-known films he has equipped include numerous Polish films as well as international productions such as Schindler's List and The Pianist . For Schindler's List , he received both an Oscar (1994) and the LAFCA for Best Production Design (1993). For The Pianist the French film award César for the best production design (2003).
