Allegiance was an Australian thrash metal band from Perth that was formed in 1990 and split up in 1997.

history

The band was formed in 1990 by bassist Dave Harrison, guitarist Tony Campo, drummer Conrad Higson, singer John Mihos and guitarist Steve Hiddon. Together they developed some songs and played some small gigs with other local bands. Drummer Higson left the band a short time later and was replaced by Dave Barry. Ex-drummer Conrad Higson returned a short time later to the band, but he took the position of singer and replaced John Mihos. Glenn Butcher replaced Dave Barry on drums and Jason Stone replaced Steve Hiddon on electric guitar. This line-up would last for the next seven years.

In 1991 the band recorded their first demo, Make the Pledge, and released it in October of the same year. In February 1992 the band played at the Bindoon Rock Festival, which attracted 10,000 visitors. In March, the second demo Torn Between Two Worlds was released. In July, the band flew to Melbourne and attended the Yamaha Rock event, where they reached the finals. In August the band went to ABC Studios to record another demo. to It was released in October under the name Studio Live . In September the band performed at the Australian Metalfest in Sydney . The band was also included with the song Twisted Minds on the accompanying compilation . The band was on the compilation Australia Metal of Def Records to hear.

In 1993 she performed at the Bindoon Rock Festival, Big Day Out , and performed together with Kreator and Fear Factory . Allegiance was featured on the RedRum by Roadrunner Records and While My Guitar Gently Kills Your Mother by Studio 52 . In April 1994 the band reached a contract with the PolyGram label . The debut album Destitution was released in Australia under the direction of the American producer Dave Pinsky . The album was released in May. The release was followed by a tour and appearances with the hard rock band The Poor . In July the band appeared in HM magazine . A video was also created for the song Destitution . In November, the live album was Time to React - Live in the JJJ studios of ABC added. In 1995 the live album was released and several national tours followed with Slayer , Biohazard , Machine Head and Channel Zero , as well as the Big Day Out festivals in Australia and New Zealand . In 1996 the band announced they were working on a new album. The album was inspired by the suicide of a roadie whose nickname was "Skinman". The album was recorded at Planet Sound Studios . The album was produced by John Villani . The album Skinman was released in November 1996 on Mercury Records . Further concerts and festivals followed in 1997. During the video shoot for Give Yourself , there were disputes in the band. Dave Harrison left the band towards the end of the year, so the band split shortly afterwards. In November 2000 and in 2003 the band held isolated concerts again.
