Everything on the lawn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alles auf dem Rasen is a collection of 30 essays by the German author Juli Zeh published in 2006 , most of which appeared between 2000 and 2005 in the newspapers Die Zeit , Die Welt and the magazine Der Spiegel . Sometimes it is also about competition entries or first publications.

title

The title of the book is an allusion to the song Hofgarten by the music group Die Toten Hosen from their debut album Opel-Gang with the line Ficken, Bumsen, Blasen, alles auf den Rasen.

content

The lyrics are a "mental mainstream" often critical opposing analyzes of topics politics , society , law , writing (in the sense of a literary and artistic creation) and travel , with a touch of subliminal and slightly biting humor . Almost without exception, they are written from the first-person perspective . As a literary figure , Juli Zeh is often part of the narrated world or even the main character (homodiegetic to auto-diegetic, see narrative theory ).
