Allgäu-Swabian Village School Museum
The First Allgäu-Swabian Village School Museum in Daxberg near Erkheim in the Unterallgäu district is a school museum that was opened in 1988 and reflects the situation of this school year .
Since 1988 it has been housed in the town's old schoolhouse, built in 1885 . In the Daxberg dwarf school , eight school years were taught in a single class.
The classroom (furniture from the 1940s) with the teaching material room next to it is still originally equipped with a raised teacher's desk , two-seater school benches, tiled stove , etc. In the museum, old writing tools , a mechanical counting machine and other teaching items , as well as numerous old school books, give a vivid impression from a one-class village school of the time.
The village school museum is designed as a “hands-on” museum. It offers guided tours and action days and organizes additional special exhibitions.
The sponsor is the “Heimatpflege-Verein Markt Erkheim”.
