The Allgemeine Bäckerzeitung (ABZ) is, according to one of its subtitles, “the leading specialist body for the bakery trade ” in German-speaking countries. The paper is a continuation of the older Bäcker- und Konditoren-Zeitung and has been published only weekly since 1948, later every fortnight by Matthaes in Stuttgart. From the end of the 20th century, magazines such as Top Back and Der Bäckermeister were incorporated into the ABZ, to which various supplements such as ABZ-Plus , Snack , Snacks, the magazine or the Bäcker Guide appeared.
