Daniel Fiß (born October 18, 1992 in Rostock ) is a German political activist of the New Right . Fiß was the deputy chairman of the right-wing extremist Identitarian Movement from 2016 to October 2019 .

Life

Fiß was born in Rostock in 1992 and grew up there. During his youth he was a member of the NPD youth organization Young National Democrats and took part in demonstrations by the “National Socialists Rostock”. According to his own statement, he has distanced himself from this scene.

During his studies in philosophy and political science at the University of Rostock , he became the "regional director" of the Identitarian Movement in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . In Rostock, Fiß and other IB activists founded the Heimwärts e. V. According to its own statements, the aim of this association is the “protection of identity, home and culture”. To this end, the association wants to influence “political decision-making” in the press and public through its own calls, events and educational work. The acquisition of rooms or real estate is also sought.

The Identitarian Movement announced in 2016 that it would move its federal seat from Paderborn to Rostock. At that time, Fiß was already the movement's deputy federal chairman. Until 2016, Fiß was also the head of the Identitarians in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Until the end of 2019, he was the deputy federal chairman of the right-wing extremist organization.

Fiß has been running an independent graphic design agency since 2018 , which among other things processed orders from the AfD .

Connections to the AfD

The then co-state chairman of AfD Mecklenburg-Vorpommern , Dennis Augustin , paid Fiß around 1200 euros in 2018 for his help with appearing on social media . Augustin saw no violation of the current incompatibility resolution within the AfD, which precludes cooperation between the party and the identity movement.

In spring 2019 he was employed as a graphic designer by the AfD member of the Bundestag Siegbert Droese .
