The Alliance of Consumer Protection Organizations is the umbrella organization of the three Swiss consumer protection organizations Associazione consumatrici e consumatori della Svizzera italiana (ACSI), Fédération romande des consommateurs (FRC) and Foundation for Consumer Protection (SKS).

Goals and Activities

The aim of the alliance is to bundle the resources of the three organizations involved and thereby better represent the interests of consumers in Switzerland. At an annual press conference in December, it presents consumer policy goals for the coming year and evaluates the past year in relation to its goals. Allianz operates the online price comparison portal Preisbarometer.ch, publishes a charter of consumer concerns and a rating of politicians standing for national elections based on it .

history

The alliance was founded in 2010 as a national association on the initiative of the then President of the Foundation for Consumer Protection and later Federal Councilor Simonetta Sommaruga . The three organizations worked closely together even before the association was founded and published the first joint agenda for 2010. To this day, the umbrella organization consists of the three founding organizations and has not changed structurally.
