Sandy Reed

Sandy Reed , also Cassandra Reed (born July 15, 1968 in New York City ) is a German-American soul and pop singer.

Life

Reed grew up as a child of German-American parents in Cologne . She started playing the saxophone at the age of 14 and took singing lessons at the age of 16. She later performed with various jazz bands, especially in Cologne. Reed was discovered in 1989 by Peter Herbolzheimer and became part of the revue cast Das Deutschland-Lied. From rubble dust to Trabiqualm by Dieter Flimm . The revue, which saw over 100 performances in the Revue-Theater Sartory-Saal , dealt with 40 years of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1992, Reed took part in the RTL - talent show emcee part, were sought in the new show master. One of the challenges for the candidates was a vocal performance. Cold , the single pre-release of their first album, was able to place itself in the German charts at the end of 1993. In the summer of 1994, Reed's debut album I Believe was released by WEA / Warner Music , which was produced by Dieter Falk . Parts of the album recordings were made in Miami , so Reed worked with Inner Circle on the tracks Just Can't Get You Out Of My Mind and Hit And Run . John Giblin and the Kick Horns were also involved in the album . The second single Sweet Love , which Reed wrote together with Dieter Falk, also reached a position in the German singles charts. Reed was particularly successful in Japan, where I Believe achieved gold status. In 1995, Sweet Love also reached number 1 on the charts in Japan. Her second album Reed Me was made in New York; Andy Marvel , Peter Zizzo , Matt Noble and Bratt Lawrence , among others, were involved . It was released in 1996. The single Oops Baby Oops reached the German single charts. Her track God Has A Million Faces was heard in 1996 in the multi-part TV series Der Schattenmann by Dieter Wedel ; here she also sang the song Key To Your Heart . Reed also sang the theme song for the television series Nikola .

In 1998 she founded her own music publisher Big Balls Musik with Peter Wieschermann. Under the name Cassandra Reed, she recorded the album of the same name in London, but it was not released. In 2003, Reed signed a contract with Peak Music and recorded the album Cassandra Reed which was produced by Jason Miles. After a US tour in 2006 she produced the album Beautiful by the group Blackstone, in which she was active as a singer. Reed has lived in New York since the late 2000s. In cooperation with Peter Monk, the singles Window Pane (2013), Feeling so Alive (2013), One More Night (2014) and Feel the Music (2015) were created as MP3 downloads .
