Allied Telesis KK ( Japanese ア ラ イ ド テ レ シ ス 株式会社 , Araido Tereshisu Kabushiki kaisha ) is an international provider of secure IP / Ethernet access solutions and an industry leader in the development of IP triple play networks over copper and fiber optic access infrastructures.

The integrated POTS -to-10G Internet iMAP multiservice access platform and the intelligent multiservice gateways (iMG) enable the operators of public and private networks as well as service providers of all sizes in connection with advanced switching, routing and IPv6-compliant transport solutions to use scalable transport solutions Carrier-grade networks for low-cost, packet-based voice, video and data services.

history

Allied Telesis is part of the Allied Telesis Group, formerly known as Allied Telesyn, and was founded in Japan in March 1987 with a capital of 1 million yen (around 8,500 euros ) under the name System Plus Co. After just 6 months, the company was renamed Allied Telesis KK. After the borrowed capital was increased to 99 million yen (approx. 850,000 euros) three years later, the Allied Telesyn Intl branch expanded to Singapore in 1991. Asia Pte., Ltd.

In 1995, the company entered the Australian market (Allied Telesyn Intl. Pty Ltd.) and opened a sales office in Malaysia. Two years later, the debt is increased to 734 million yen (approximately 6.26 million €) and another office is opened in Taiwan.

In 1999 the company acquired a network division from Teltrend Ltd. US and founds Centrecom Systems Ltd. in Great Britain. A year later, Allied Telesyn Europe Service Srl entered the market in Italy and Allied Telesyn Korea Co., Ltd in Korea, and a research & development center (Allied Telesyn Labs New Zealand Ltd.) was established in Christchurch, New Zealand . In addition, Allied Telesis KK is listed on the Tokyo stock exchange in the second category (for medium-sized companies, editor's note).

In 2001 a software development center was founded in the Philippines (Allied Telesyn Philippines Inc.) and the market entry in Austria (Allied Telesyn International GmbH) and in China (Allied Telesis Suzhou Co., Ltd.), along with the opening of another research facility - & Development Center in North Carolina, USA (Allied Telesyn Networks Inc.).

In 2002 the company expanded to Spain (Allied Telesyn International SLU) and Switzerland (Allied Telesyn International SA).

On July 1, 2004, the old Allied Telesis KK was renamed Allied Telesis Holdings KK and the current Allied Telesis KK was re-established as a 100% subsidiary.

A year later, the company acquired ROOT Inc., a wireless network company. In addition, another branch (Allied Telesis Capital Corp) is established in Washington, USA. 2006 opens another branch (Allied Telesis Capital Corp) at Yokota Air Base in Japan.

In 2007 the Switchblade x908 was launched. In addition, the Allied Telesis Yokota AFB branch is starting with IPTV as part of the IVVD contract with AAFES for the Yokota community. A year later, Allied Telesis Yokota AFB added 23 channels to its video offering and relied on a core provider for telephone calls to the USA . In addition, Allied Telesis brings various environmentally friendly network products (“ Green IT ”) onto the market.

Solutions and product portfolio

Allied Telesis offers solutions for networks in the carrier, enterprise and connectivity area. These include access, aggregation, backbone and core transport technologies for Ethernet / IP-based solutions as well as end-to-end network solutions and Ethernet networks for enterprise customers or connectivity systems. Allied Telesis also offers and develops various products for Hardware & Services, IT Infrastructure, Core Network Solutions and Secure Access Solutions.

  • Switches : as managed, unmanaged and WebSmart versions for different infrastructures (copper and fiber optic ) and use from the core to the edge area
  • Router : Access router series WAN and Internet multiservice access, solutions for T1 / E1 , ISDN , xDSL and leased lines, hardware and software functions such as advanced routing , QoS , IPv6 , modular VPN routers, support for conventional protocols ( IPX , Frame Relay ) and Stateful inspection firewall
  • Media Converter : for mixing media and data rates in copper and fiber optic systems, combining technologies with legacy systems , increasing the service life of legacy peripherals
  • NICs : Ethernet connectivity for voice, video and data transfer to the desktop, integrated software diagnostics for maintenance, operation and troubleshooting; Support of copper and fiber optic ports: RJ-45 , SC, ST, MT-RJ and BNC
