Allister is an American pop punk band from Chicago , Illinois .
history
The band was founded in 1996 by John Hamada ( vocals , guitar ), Tim Rogner (vocals, drums ) and Eric "Skippy" Mueller ( electric bass ) as Phineas Gage. A year later they renamed themselves Allister and Drive-Thru Records released the debut EP You Can't Do That on Vinyl in 1998 . In 1999 the first album Dead Ends and Girlfriends was released and the line-up of the band changed a little with Scott Murphy on bass and Skippy on guitar. In 2002 the second album Last Stop Suburbia followed , which was able to place in the Billboard Heatseekers Charts. There was a tour with worldwide appearances in 2004. In the same year they also starred in the film Sleepover . The third album called Before the Blackout was then released in 2005. In March 2007, the band members announced that they would take a break "until further notice". After a Japan tour, the farewell concert took place on July 20, 2007 in Chicago.
On March 30, 2010 the band announced their reunion on Myspace. Allister has signed a new contract with Universal Japan.
