Almåsaberget is a 750 meter high mountain in the municipality of Krokom , in Jämtland County . The ski slope on the mountain is one of the largest and most important ski slopes outside the Scandinavian Mountains in the historic province of Jämtland . The slope was built and opened in 1972 by the former municipality of Offerdal .

At the foot of the mountain lies the farming village of Almåsa , which was mentioned as early as 1410. Remains of other medieval settlements were found in the vicinity.

For several years there have been wind turbines on the mountain .
