The Almkogel is 2116  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Styrian part of the Dead Mountains . The Almkogel, also called Eisenberg , is the first elevation east of the Salzsteigjoch . To the north the mountain breaks off with rocky flanks into the rearmost Stodertal, to the south grass slopes lead to the Interhüttenalm . To the northeast of the summit, a narrow ridge runs to Sneslitz and on to Hochsteinscharte. In winter, the summit is the destination of a ski tour from the south. At the summit there is a summit cross with a summit book.
