The Almtaler Köpfl is 2204 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Dead Mountains in Upper Austria . The Almtaler Köpfl is actually the northeast shoulder of the Schermberg , which is connected to it by a narrow ridge. Its flat and steep north face builds up prominently against the Schermberg north face and is separated from it by a pronounced gorge. The much-visited summit with a summit cross can be reached from the Welser hut and offers a beautiful panoramic view.
Ascent
The summit is crossed during the ascent of the Schermberg via ferrata Tassilo . There are also some climbing routes on the north face, such as the Grünauer Weg.
