Almuth Stöhr

Almuth Stöhr (married Schoon ; * 1949) is a German table tennis player with her top performance in the 1960s. She took part in a world championship.

Career

Stöhr began her career at the club BSV Eintracht Leer. In 1966 she became German youth champion in singles and doubles with Brigitte Scharmacher , with Michael Heene she reached the final in mixed. In the same year she moved to VfL Osnabrück , where she stayed until 1969, when she returned to Eintracht Leer.

She achieved even more successes in doubles with Brigitte Scharmacher. With her she won the Lower Saxony championship in 1967 and 1968. Here she also won the individual title in 1967. At the national German championships in 1967 and 1968 they were third in doubles.

In 1969 Stöhr was nominated for the individual competitions of the World Cup in Munich. Here she could not qualify for the main round in singles or doubles with Ingrid Bahnert . The doubles lost in the qualifying round against Pauline Piddock / Carmen Crisan (England / Romania). In mixed she was eliminated in the round of 64.

She later joined the Niendorfer TSV club . From here she moved to Oberalster VfW in the Bundesliga in 1975 . Finally she returned to her original club, BSV Eintracht Leer, which was integrated into SC 04 Leer in 2004. Here she still plays in the district league today (2010).

Private

After their marriage in February 1972, Almuth Stöhr performed under the name Schoon .
