Alois Alberer

Alois Alberer (born January 7, 1922 in Schwambach ; † October 27, 2011 in Sankt Veit an der Glan ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and federal railway official.

Working life

After completing compulsory schooling from 1928 to 1936, he was initially a farm worker, bakery worker and construction and woodworker before he was drafted into the Navy. After the war he worked at the railway as a superstructure worker and finally worked as an administrative officer (accounting officer) at the ÖBB until 1979.

politics

Alberer was a member of the Carinthian state parliament 1965-1970, local party chairman of the SPÖ Glanegg, district party chairman-deputy of the SPÖ St. Veit an der Glan 1965-1970, district chairman of the pensioners 'association St. Veit an der Glan 1979-1996, shop steward of the railway workers' union in 1945 and Member of the central management of the railway workers' union.

From March 20, 1970 to October 10, 1972 he was a member of the Federal Council and from October 10, 1972 to June 4, 1979 he was a member of the National Council for the SPÖ .
