Alois Bischofberger

Alois Bischofberger (born August 16, 1868 in Schnepfau , † October 16, 1955 in Mellau ) was an Austrian politician ( CS ). Bischofberger was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 1919 to 1932 .

Alois Bischofberger was born on August 16, 1868 as the son of the butcher and farmer Josef Bischofberger and his wife Maria Magdalena in Schnepfau in the Bregenz Forest. After attending elementary school in Mellau and brief piano and organ lessons in Viktorsberg , Bischofberger became a farmer like his father. Later he also dealt with the repair of embroidery and sewing machines, as an innkeeper and as a consumer administrator. On October 22, 1900, Alois Bischofberger married his first wife, Maria Barbara Feuerstein, in Mellau, with whom he had a total of six children. Also in his home community Mellau, Bischofberger was elected as a member of the Christian Social Party to the community council, to which he belonged for 40 years. He was also politically active as a councilor in Mellau.

On June 17, 1919, Alois Bischofberger was elected as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament for the Bregenz electoral district , to which he belonged for three legislative periods until November 21, 1932. Until November 5, 1923, Bischofberger was a substitute member for his party colleague Bernhard Neyer in the Vorarlberg state government .
