Bernhard Neyer

Bernhard Neyer (born September 3, 1870 in Bürserberg ; † January 7, 1944 in Bludenz ) was an Austrian politician ( CS ) and teacher. From 1919 to 1932 Neyer was both a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament and a regional councilor in the Vorarlberg state government .

Bernhard Neyer was born on September 3, 1870 as the son of the farmer and shoemaker Karl Franz Neyer and his wife Maria Josefa in the Vorarlberg community of Bürserberg. Neyer first attended the elementary school in Bürserberg and then from 1890 to 1894 the teacher training college in Feldkirch , where he was trained as an elementary school teacher. From 1894 to 1895 he was a teacher at the elementary school in Brand for a year before starting to teach on October 1, 1895 as a teacher at the elementary school of his home community. In 1896 he passed the teaching qualification test for elementary school teachers in Innsbruck. On April 24, 1899, Bernhard Neyer married his wife Agatha in Bartholomäberg , with whom he subsequently had 11 children. From 1906 to 1912 he was director of the Bürserberg elementary school for the first time.

On June 17, 1919, Neyer was sworn in for the Christian Social Party after his election in the Bludenz constituency as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament. At the same time as he entered the state parliament, Neyer was also appointed regional councilor in the Vorarlberg state government, where he was responsible for agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishing as well as veterinary affairs until November 21, 1932. From 1925 to 1928 and from 1942 to 1944 he was again director of the Bürserberg elementary school. In 1932 he was awarded the Great Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria .
