Alois Stöllinger

Alois Stöllinger (born July 29, 1924 in Schwarzach im Pongau ; † October 9, 2015 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and registrar. From 1969 to 1986 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

education and profession

Between 1930 and 1939 Stöllinger attended elementary and secondary school in the municipality of St. Johann im Pongau and then completed an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker from 1939 to 1942. From 1942 he served in the Reich Labor Service , where he was subsequently obliged to serve in the Second World War . Stöllinger served in the army until the end of the World War in 1945 and after his return in 1946 he joined the St. Johann im Pongau district administration. In 1951 he moved back to his birthplace and subsequently worked as a registrar in Schwarzach im Pongau from 1951 to 1984.

Politics and functions

Stöllinger joined the Social Democratic Party of Austria in 1946 and was active as local party chairman of the Social Democratic Party in Schwarzach im Pongau from 1962 to 1990. At the district level he worked from 1969 to 1984 as the district chairman of the Working Group of Socialist Community Representatives in Pongau, and at the state level he was also a member of the state committee for the Social Democratic Party of Salzburg. At the local political level, he was a member of the municipal council from 1959 to 1964, after which he was mayor of Schwarzach im Pongau from 1964 to 1994. He also represented the Social Democratic Party from May 14, 1969 to October 21, 1986 in the Salzburg state parliament.

Stöllinger also worked from 1966 to 1986 as chairman of the tourist association of Schwarzach im Pongau and was deputy district manager of the Austrian Red Cross from 1969 to 2000 and, from 1969, a member of the board of the Salzburg community association.
