Alonso de Castillo Solórzano (born October 1, 1584 in Tordesillas , Valladolid; died around 1648 in Saragossa or Palermo ) was a Spanish writer and playwright of the Baroque era . He is an author of satirical and parodic poetry .

Nothing is known about his youth. He worked for the Marquis de Villars and for the Marquis de los Vélez , the viceroy of Valencia , whom he followed on his campaign in Catalonia and later to Rome . The fact that he was no longer mentioned in the viceroy's entourage in 1648 suggests his likely death. He is the author of numerous picaresque novels. His Picaresque style found imitation particularly in France . His best-known work is La garduña de Sevilla y Anelo de las bolsas (1629, "The Garden of Seville"), first published in 1661 (Paris) and later under the title Histoire de dona Rufine, courtisane de Séville in French (Paris, 1731) and under the title Life and Strange Events of Dona Rufine, a professional Spanish courtisane, was also translated into German (Frankfurt; Leipzig, 1732).
