Alonso de Proaza

Alonso de Proaza (* 1445 in the Asturias region , † 1519 ) was a Spanish humanist of the prerrenacimiento and professor of rhetoric in Valencia.

Live and act

He spent his youth in Oviedo . Later in 1461 he moved his center of life for Salamanca to at the local university to study. He finished his studies with the academic title of a Bachelor , bachiller de artes . During his student days he was friends with the Spanish dramaturge Fernando de Rojas .

In Valencia he was secretary to Bishop Guillén Ramón de Moncada (1440–1521) in the diocese of Tarazona . In 1504 he was appointed professor of rhetoric at the University of Valencia .
