Aloys Berg

Aloys Berg (* 1946 in Duisburg ) is a German sports medicine specialist and professor of sports medicine.

life and work

Berg studied human medicine at the University of Freiburg from 1967 to 1972 and completed his studies with a state examination and doctorate (1972). From 1974 to 2008, Berg worked in the sports medicine department at the Medical Clinic at the University of Freiburg Medical Center . From 2005 to 2011 he headed the nutrition department at the Institute for Sport and Sport Science at the University of Freiburg. Most recently he worked as a doctor at his private "Institute for Preventive Medicine" in Freiburg.

According to his own account, he received calls for C4 professorships for sports medicine at the universities of Leipzig and Jena .

Berg's scientific focal points include sports therapy and lifestyle intervention for internal diseases, diagnosis and therapy of lipid metabolism disorders, sports biochemistry and sports immunology, and nutrition and sports.

In January 2015, the NDR magazine Plusminus raised allegations against Berg for possibly improper advertising for a diet product.
