Alps-Adriatic Alliance

The Alps-Adriatic Alliance was re-established on November 22, 2013 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee (Carinthia). It represents a completely new network structure for project-oriented cooperation in the Alps-Adriatic region and thus replaces the Alps-Adriatic working group .

structure

The regional heads of government meet every two years within the framework of the Alps-Adriatic Council, which is currently chaired by Carinthian Governor Peter Kaiser . The administrative level is represented in the steering committee, which meets twice a year, whose main task is to fund joint projects from the budget of the Alps-Adriatic Alliance.

The specific project-oriented cooperation is coordinated by so-called Thematic Coordination Points (TCPs), which are currently on the topics of energy and the environment, Europe, health, equal treatment, higher education, inclusion, disaster control, culture, agriculture and cultural heritage, mobility, sport, tourism and business are set up. Since the Alps-Adriatic Alliance was founded, 88 joint projects and patronages have been decided upon, four of which have also been funded by the EU program "Erasmus +".

All members have set up Alpen-Adria Contact Points as the first point of contact for all interested parties, with that of the Province of Carinthia also acting as the general secretariat of the Alps-Adriatic Alliance.
