Alpine rebels

The AlpenRebellen (founded in 1993) were an Austrian music group. It was founded in 1993 by merging a rock band and an Oberkrainer group in Eisenerz in Upper Styria . They were dissolved in 2013.

History and style

The AlpenRebellen are an Austrian music group that combines elements of mainstream rock , Oberkrainer music , traditional (handed down) folk music and popular music and (popular) hits. The band is assigned to both new folk music ( alpine rock ) and folk music .

Already in the 2nd year of its existence, the AlpenRebellen achieved 3rd place at the Grand Prix of Folk Music in Zurich with the title “The People in the Country” . Many guest appearances and TV appearances at home and abroad followed (especially Germany, but also Canada (Whistler Mountain, 1998)). Of the eleven albums published so far, three achieved gold status in Austria.
