The alpha-1,3-mannosyl glycoprotein 4-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase B is an enzyme , more precisely a glycosyltransferase , which is involved in the transfer of N-acetylglucosamine to mannose residues of N-linked glycan . It analyzes the formation of N-acetylglucosamine-beta 1-4 branches on the N-acetylglucosamine-beta-1-2-manalpha-1-3 arm of the core structure of N-linked glycans. It is therefore essential for the formation of three- or four-way branched N-linked sugar chains.
