Alphons Bujard

Alphons Ludwig Karl Georg Bujard (born February 18, 1861 in Pforzheim , † June 27, 1917 in Stuttgart ) was a German pharmacist.

Life

Alphons Bujard attended the Realgymnasium and the pedagogy in Pforzheim . He began his pharmaceutical apprenticeship in 1876 in Ludwigsburg and finished it in Göppingen near Mauch. After completing his assistant examination, he worked for three years in Göppingen, Zurich and Schwäbisch Gmünd . From 1882 to 1884 he studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart , took off his pharmaceutical state exam in 1885 at the University of Berne Dr. phil. doctorate and one year later assistant at the chemical investigation office of the city of Stuttgart . In 1885 he became chief pharmacist in the XIII. Army Corps. In 1894 Bujard received his license to practice as a food chemist and in 1895 took over the management of the municipal chemical laboratory and of the Stuttgart calibration office . He received the title of director in 1908.

From small beginnings, Bujard made the investigation office in Stuttgart one of the largest in the German Empire. At first he worked in the field of food chemistry , but later more in the field of applied technical chemistry . In addition to his practical work, he has published numerous papers on analytical methods, technical chemistry, pyrotechnics , food chemistry and hygiene since 1886 . Among other things, he constructed special vessels for taking water samples for bacteriological purposes and a collection device. He was also a contributor to important manuals. Together with Eduard Baier, he wrote the “Help book for food chemists”.
