Alpine is an unincorporated area in DeKalb County in the state of Alabama in the United States .

Alpine is located in northeast Alabama in the southern United States, about five miles west of the Georgia border . It is located north of the 55 square kilometers Little River Canyon National Preserve .

Nearby locations include Fort Payne (1 km southwest), Valley Head (4 km north), Mentone (4 km north), Henagar (12 km northwest), and Rainsville (16 km west). The next larger city is Huntsville, about 90 kilometers to the west, with a population of 168,000 .
