Alpsray is a district of the city of Rheinberg in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1934, Alpsray was an independent municipality in what was then the district of Moers .
geography
Alpsray was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century. The place name refers to a clearing ("-ray") that started in the neighboring town of Alpen or that belongs to the Alps. Alpsray is about two kilometers west of the Rheinberg city center. The former municipality of Alpsray had an area of 2.04 km².
history
Alpsray formed a rural community in the mayorry of the Alps since the 19th century . This belonged to the Geldern district until 1857 and to the Moers district since 1857. On July 1, 1934, Alpsray was incorporated into the city of Rheinberg.
