The Old Synagogue in Thionville , a French town in the Moselle department in the historic Lorraine region , was built in 1882 to designs by the Karlsruhe architect Ludwig Levy . The synagogue was located at 31 avenue Clemenceau.

The neo-Romanesque synagogue was burned down by the German occupiers in July 1940 during World War II . The ruin was removed and the stones were used for road construction.

The New Synagogue was built on the same site in 1956 .
