Old Druyanov (1923)

Old Druyanov ( Hebrew אַלְתֶר דרוּיאָנוֹב Old Drujanov or Old Drujanoff ; born July 6, 1870 in the Vilna Gouvernement , Russian Empire; died May 10, 1938 in Tel Aviv ) was a Hebrew writer and publicist , Zionist (1899–1905 secretary of the Odessa Committee , 1910–1914 in Odessa editor of the official organ Haolam ), historian of early Zionism and folklorist .

After the First World War he went to Palestine , where he a. a. together with Bialik published several volumes of the Hebrew collective publication for folklore Reschummot .

Alter Drujanow wrote the first comprehensive collection of Jewish jokes and anecdotes .
