history

Apollonia Chapel

At the time of the establishment of the place Fraulautern and the steadily growing population, it was decided to create a cemetery in what was then a small village. A parish church was built in the cemetery in 1540 for the place, today's Apollonia chapel (formerly the parish church of St. Trinity ). After the population grew, the monastery church of the Fraulautern Abbey (today the primary school in the old monastery ) was used as a parish church. When this had to be demolished because of its dilapidation, the previous church of today's parish church of the Holy Trinity was built only 50 meters from the Apollonia Chapel. So burials took the benefit of the monastery church as a parish church in the used just as a parish church instead. Only Protestant parishioners were buried in the Apollonia chapel then, as they are today. The oldest graves that still exist in the cemetery today were dug around 1800 and were not removed due to their historical age.

Funerals

Burial options in the cemetery are urn graves, as well as burials . Urns can be placed and buried in individual graves, urn family graves, lawn graves, natural graves, family lawn graves, as well as coffin graves. The burial can take place in a row grave , family grave or lawn grave . Individual graves with coffins have a rest period of 20 years, urn graves 15 years. In contrast to row graves, the rest period for family graves of any kind can be extended after the 20 or 15 year period has expired.

The laying out of the bodies takes place due to a missing here cooling in the mortuary of the newer cemetery on the cross mountain .
