Old prison (the German name is used locally also in English) is a prison in Swakopmund in the region Erongo in Namibia . The representative building was erected under German colonial rule in 1909. The architect was Heinrich Bause and / or Otto Ertl . The building is still used as a prison today (as of February 2020).
The building has been a Namibian National Monument since October 26, 1973 .
