The End-of-Life Vehicle Ordinance , formerly the End-of- Life Vehicle Ordinance , stipulates that certain motor vehicles are to be handed over as waste either to a recognized collection point or a recognized recycling company.

It is based on Directive 2000/53 / EC on end-of-life vehicles . The automotive industry has committed itself to the worldwide implementation of the guideline and founded the I nternational M aterial D ata S ystem IMDS for this purpose .

In Germany, the regulation is based on the Recycling Management Act .

The implementation of the regulation is the responsibility of the joint agency for end-of-life vehicles of the federal states (GESA). She collects u. a. Data on recognized dismantling companies , shredder plants and other systems and makes them available to the public.
