The Altstädter Kirchhof 5 building is a listed residential building in Bernburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the Bernburg valley town on the east side of the Altstädter Kirchhof street . The residential building, which is also listed, adjoins Altstädter Kirchhof 4 to the south .

Architecture and history

The two-storey residential building was built in the Baroque era and is one of the few baroque courtyards that have survived in Bernburg's old town. The building was built from rubble stones . The windows and portal of the house are covered with sandstone walls. The eaves-standing structure is covered by a steep gable roof . At the beginning of the 2000s, the building was ruined and uninhabited, but was then renovated. Dormers were placed on the roof. On the courtyard side, there was still a very dilapidated courtyard wing at the beginning of the 2000s, which took up the dimensions of the main building.

The residential building is registered as a historical building under the registration number 094 60535 in the monument register for the city of Bernburg .
