The Alveser See is a natural inland lake between Eitzendorf and Alvesen . Both belong to the Lower Saxony municipality of Hilgermissen in the integrated municipality of Grafschaft Hoya in the district of Nienburg / Weser .

The Alveser See, an oxbow lake of the Weser , extends largely in a north-south direction. It is about 3 km long, a maximum of 180 m wide and has an area of ​​about 14 ha . It drains in the north over the Blender Emte .

The lake was exposed to cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) for around 28 days at the end of the 2010 swimming season.

The lake is used by the Landessportfischerverband Niedersachsen eV as fishing waters. Boat fishing is allowed.

The Alveser See is classified as a landscape protection area on an area of ​​92.9 ha in accordance with the Lower Saxony regulation LSG NI 41 .
