Alvin Singh (born June 9, 1988 in Yalalevu ) is a Fijian football player who is mostly used in central defense. He has been under contract with APIA Leichhardt Tigers in the New South Wales Premier League since 2017 and has been a regular member of the Fijian national soccer team since 2008 .

Career

He moved from the Fijian club Ba FC to Hekari United FC for the 2010/11 season in Papua New Guinea . After just a year, he returned to Ba FC. After leaving the club in July 2013, he returned to the club two years later. In January 2017 he left Ba FC for Australia and joined the APIA Leichhardt Tigers , which are represented in the New South Wales Premier League .

On September 6, 2008 he was called up by coach Juan Carlos Buzzetti for the first time in the Fijian national football team. In the 2-0 win against Vanuatu in World Cup qualification, he came on for Pita Bolatoga in the 80th minute . In the friendly against Tonga on August 19, 2015 , he scored his first goal in the national dress. In the 5-0 victory, he scored the interim 2-0 in the 16th minute. In 2016 he was nominated by trainer Frank Farina for the 2016 Summer Olympics and was used in all three games of the soccer competition .
