Amélie Nikisch
Amélie Heussner Nikisch (nee Amélie Heussner ) (born December 28, 1862 in Brussels , † January 18, 1938 in Berlin ) was a Belgian actress , soprano and composer.
Life
Amélie Heussner initially worked as a soubrette at theaters in Kassel and Leipzig . After her marriage she worked as a singing teacher. The daughter of parents of German origin married the Hungarian conductor Arthur Nikisch on July 1, 1885 , whom she had met at an opera rehearsal. Her children are the legal scholar Arthur Philipp Nikisch , Käthe Nikisch, wife of the Leipzig Gewandhaus concert master Edgar Wollgandt , Nora Nikisch, wife of the Leipzig actor Ewald Schindler and the pianist, composer and bandleader Mitja Nikisch . She is buried with her husband and her youngest son in the Südfriedhof (Leipzig) .
