Amanda Ammar (born February 6, 1986 in St. Albert ) is a Canadian cross-country skier .

Career

Ammar first took part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski in 2002 . Since 2004 she has mainly competed in the Nor-Am Cup , which she won in 2013 . She finished her first World Cup race in Vernon in December 2005 with 47th place in the 15 km pursuit. Her first and so far only World Cup points she got a week later with the 27th place in the 15 km mass start race in Canmore . Her best placings at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Pragelato were 49th in the sprint and 10th in the relay. The Tour de Ski 2006/07 she finished in 45th place. In February 2012 she won the 51 km freestyle at Gatineau Loppet . At the Canadian cross-country skiing championship in Corner Brook in 2014 , she won gold in the 30 km mass start race and bronze over 5 km classic. Her best result at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi was 49th place in the 30 km mass start race.
