Amando Ivančić

Amando Ivančić ( German  Amandus Ivanschiz ; baptized December 24, 1727 ; † 1758 ) was a Croatian composer and Pauline monk . His father was Mathias Josephus , a Burgenland Croat from Baumgarten .

Life

Very little is known about the life of Amando Ivančić. Ivančić joined the Pauline Order in Wiener Neustadt in 1743 and took the name Amandus. From 1755 he lived in the Maria Trost monastery near Graz . He had close contacts with the Jesuits of the St. Aegidius Cathedral in Graz, for whom he composed.

The style of his compositions is partly to be assigned to the Viennese classic , partly also to the baroque music . Amando Ivančić composed 22 symphonies , 16 chamber works , 21 masses and seven oratorios , among other things . There are a number of audio CDs with Amando Ivančić's music.
