Amathos (son of Macedon)
Amathos ( ancient Greek Ἄμαθος ) is a person from Greek mythology .
According to a Scholion for the Iliad , he is the son of Macedon , the eponymous hero of Macedonia , and a grandson of Zeus and Aithria . Amathos is named as the eponymous hero of the Macedonian city of Amathia , his brother is Pieros , the eponymous hero of the city of Pieria .
