Amazon is an American documentary film from 1997. In 1998 the film was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Documentary Short .

action

The film takes the viewer into the world of the Amazon, the largest river on earth. Many of the animals and plants that live here are unknown to most people. Only a few members of the indigenous tribes, especially their shamans and medicine men, know the secrets of these species, which have not yet been discovered by science. One of these shamans meets the ethnobotanist Dr. Mark Plotkin. The local shows the researcher the most diverse animals and plants and the indigenous people who live here.
