Amazonino Mendes
Amazonino Armando Mendes (born November 16, 1939 in Eirunepé ) is a Brazilian politician and multiple governor of the state of Amazonas .
Mendes is the son of Armando de Sousa Mendes and Francisca Gomes Mendes.
Mendes was the mayor of Manaus until the end of 2012 . It was the third time that he held this office. From February 1, 1991 to December 31, 1992 he was a senator in his home state Amazonas in the Federal Senate of the National Congress . Mendes was also three times governor of the state of Amazonas. Today he belongs to the Partido Democrático Trabalhista (PDT), previously also to the Partido Trabalhista Brasileiro (PTB).
