Ambelonas ( Greek Αμπελώνας ( m. Sg. )) Is a city and a municipality of the municipality of Tyrnavos in the Greek region of Thessaly . It is located southwest of Mount Olympus , 22 km southeast of the small town of Elassona and north of the city of Larisa .

Ambelonas has been part of the municipality of Tyrnavos since 2010 and, as the municipality of Ambelonas, consists of the local communities Ambelonas (5920), Vryotopos (585), Deleria (655) and Rodia (732 inhabitants).

The municipality of Ambelonas is characterized by agriculture, the products of which are mainly cotton, grain and maize, but also grapes (wine), pears and peaches. In addition, fruits and vegetables such as cabbage, tomatoes and melons are grown.

Ambelonas is known for its annual wine festival since 1959.
