Unlike in the industry, Amber Michaels, who was adopted by American parents and grew up in Miami , Florida , only switched to the porn business in 1998 at the relatively advanced age of 30 after her first career as a stripper . There she quickly became very successful and gained a reputation for freedom of movement above average, even within the genre . She can regularly be found among the ten most popular porn stars on the Internet.
She has received various nominations and awards for her films, including the Zeus Award for Most Popular Porn Star in 2003, after receiving the Adult Stars Magazine fan award in 2001 .
