Ameer Abdullah (* 13. June 1993 in Homewood , Alabama ) is an American American football poker players in the position of running back . He currently plays for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL).
college
Abdullah played for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2011 to 2014 and was an outstanding player in the running back and returner positions . Among other things, he won the Senior CLASS Award for Outstanding Senior Class Player in Division I FBS of the NCAA . This award is given through votes from NCAA coaches, media representatives, and fans. He was also elected MVP of the Senior Bowl 2015.
Abdullah ran a total of 4,588 yards in 813 runs and caught 73 passes for 690 yards. Together he had 46 touchdowns . He also made 31 punt returns and 59 kick returns, bringing them back for a total of 1,808 yards and two touchdowns.

Detroit Lions
Abdullah was selected as the 54th pick ever by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft . He made his NFL debut on August 13, 2015 against the New York Jets .
He was the returner with the most return yards in his 2015 rookie season and was named Rookie of the Year 2015 by media representatives for the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association .
Minnesota Vikings
On November 6, 2018, Abdullah was released by the Lions and signed by division rivals Minnesota Vikings the following day .
