Amei Wiegel

Amei Wiegel (born May 25, 1949 in Göttingen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . She is married and has two kids.

education and profession

Amei Wiegel attended school in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia and graduated from high school in Essen in 1968. Wiegel then completed her traineeship at the Westfälische Rundschau . She then worked as an editor for the Hannoversche Neue Presse and the Goslarschen Zeitung , among others . After 1978 she worked as a freelancer and in political public relations.

politics

Wiegel has been a member of the SPD since 1978 . She has been a member of the Altencelle local council since 1985 and the city council of Celle since 1996. Wiegel was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the 12th and 13th electoral periods (June 21, 1990 to March 30, 1998). On September 29, 1998 she moved back into the state parliament as a replacement for the late Gerhild Jahn and was a member of the state parliament until she left in February 2008 (14th and 15th electoral terms).

Since 2014 she has been a representative on the radio council of Deutschlandradio for the state of Lower Saxony .

She is a member of the trade union for public services, transport and traffic (ÖTV) ( ver.di since 2001 ), the workers' welfare organization and Pro Familia .
