Gerhild Jahn

Gerhild Jahn (born June 24, 1941 in Zgierz ; † September 21, 1998 in Wolfenbüttel ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Jahn first attended elementary school, then secondary school and high school in Seesen in the Harz region. Then she worked as a publishing clerk in Wolfenbüttel . Jahn also worked as a volunteer lay judge. She worked at the administrative court and the regional labor court of Lower Saxony.

Jahn had been a member of the SPD since 1977. From 1991 she was on the City Council of Wolfenbüttel, where she was a member of the culture committee.

In constituency 12 "Wolfenbüttel" she was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament for the first time in the 1994 state elections. There she campaigned in particular against injustice and discrimination against girls and women and therefore also became a member of the committee for equality and women's issues. In addition, she was a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry, the Election Review Committee and the Subcommittee on "Correctional Services and Criminal Assistance".

She died shortly after she was re-elected in 1998, and Amei Wiegel replaced her .
