Ameneminet

Ameneminet was an ancient Egyptian civil servant who served as chief of the border police . He officiated under Ramses II.

Ameneminet is probably under Seti I was born. His father was the high priest of Amun , Wenennefer, his mother the singer of Amun , Isis. Even under Seti I, he seems to have embarked on a military career. At that time he was a chariot driver and stable master . He then became a troop commander and was en route abroad as an envoy. Under Ramses II he was then promoted to head of the border police . In this role he was involved in the construction of the Ramesseum , the ruler's mortuary temple.

Ameneminet's wife was called Nefertari and was the daughter of the Sem priest in the temple of Sokar , Minmose.

Ameneminet had a grave in Thebes-West , which so far could not be located more precisely. However, parts of his sarcophagus and a lintel from the grave were found in Thebes-West . A unique monument is the so-called family monument in Naples . It is a series of mummy-shaped statues carved in a block. Each of these figures represents an important family member of the Ameneminet.
