American Quality Coach Company was an American automotive company based in Blytheville , Arkansas .

Oldsmobile Toronado AQC Jetway from 1968

The company was founded in 1967 by Waldo J. Cotner and Robert Bevington. After their company Cotner-Bevington was acquired by DIVCO-Wayne in 1964 and incorporated as a subsidiary of Miller-Meteor , there were differences in terms of the company's orientation and the models offered. So the two finally sold their shares in Cotner-Bevington in 1968 to DIVCO-Wayne.

The company, which was founded with the proceeds from the sale, started production in the previous Cotner-Bevington automobile plant in Blytheville (Arkansas). Based on the Oldsmobile Toronado , the three-axle AQC Jetway 707 airport limousine was created from 1968 . In addition, the construction of smaller VIP limousines, hearses , ambulances or combined vehicles was planned. The development and construction of the AQC Jetway 707 consumed all of the company's capital. The planned sales figures were never achieved. Bankruptcy had to be declared as early as 1969. In 1970 production was finally stopped and the factory closed. It is not known how high the number of vehicles produced is. The number varies between 52 and 150.
