Amirjan Sabori

Amirjan Sabori ( Dari امير جان صبوري; * in Herat ) is an Afghan singer, composer and poet .

Sabori left Afghanistan during the war years and currently lives in Canada. Amirjan Sabori had a long break in his career.

After the fall of the Taliban , who did not appreciate music , art and dance , he visited his hometown and stayed in Kabul for a long time. He was one of the first musicians to help rebuild music in Afghanistan. His songs were well known in Persian-speaking countries like Iran and Tajikistan .

The performance of the musician is to combine the Afghan or Indo-Iranian melodies with components of western polyphony or music with various keys, chords, etc. professionally according to harmony . With an orchestra made up of different ethnic groups from Central Asia, he sang his song The Separation , which can be interpreted as a symbol of his separation from his homeland.

The themes of his music go back to the old cultural traditions of the country, which he tries to symbolize with new and modern tones and instruments.

In 2005 his new album, also in his mother tongue Dari , came out , Zindagi Hamen Ast , which he sang together with Homayon Hazbar Schinwari and Wahid Qasemi (grandchild of Qasem Jo ).

The songs on his album Hanoz awal e Eshk ast became hits in Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
